Milford is a full-service city providing services to our residents and businesses that are typically only provided by much larger municipalities. These public amenities are also amplified by an active citizenry that participates in its government and volunteers in many community functions. We also are well-served by our productive relationship with the State-rated “Excellent” Milford Exempted Village School District. We view our roles in this relationship as the City providing a supportive and vibrant location for businesses to create jobs and the school system fostering creative, young employees and future leaders for our business community.
The diversity of housing choices, from every decade of the past two centuries, is only one reason why residents choose to make Milford their home. You can find many examples of historic preservation in both our residential and commercial districts. In fact, our downtown business district is thriving with a variety of retail businesses, some located in buildings dating back to the early 1800’s. Our residents would tell you that they enjoy the walkability of Milford which keeps them close-knit and connects them to many of our business districts and neighborhoods.
Another quality of life feature is a rare chance to live within the I-275 beltway while still enjoying scenic amenities and large open spaces. Having two interchanges on an interstate allow our retail centers to thrive as a hub for the area’s dining and entertainment needs. We are a rare community to be our size and still able to support such a large number of both national chains and entrepreneurial “mom and pop” businesses.
In addition to recreating on the Little Miami River, resident and visitors also enjoy the numerous recreational amenities of the Little Miami Scenic Trail, City park system, the large nature preserve of the Valley View Foundation property, the Finley Ray Park that is used for state-level sports tournaments and the Terrace Park Country Club.
On behalf of City Council and staff, to our exciting residents, merchants and patrons, “Thank You” for your contributions; and to future visitors, “Welcome.”
