Sidewalk Maintenance Program
The City of Milford Code Enforcement Officer will be conducting the 2008 sidewalk inspections beginning in June. The city has been divided into five sections and each summer the City Inspector will walk an entire section of the City (see map below). Sidewalks will be marked where the offset between blocks is ½ inch or greater, cracks are greater than ½ inch, severely spalled surfaces, and other hazardous conditions. For complete sidewalk information, see the Sidewalk Maintenance Guide.
In 2008 the inspection area is located primarily in the downtown area; however, the Inspector will respond to citizen complaints in any area of the city. If the Inspector determines that a sidewalk is in disrepair, the property owner will receive a notice explaining the defect and be given 90 days to make the repair. The property owner may be eligible for a reimbursement of 50% of the repair cost up to $250.
