Income Tax

RITA - Copy
The purpose of the city income tax is to provide funds for municipal services such as police and fire, parks and recreation, maintenance of infrastructure, new equipment, and capital improvements. The Milford City Council approved Ordinance #424 on August 1, 1972, which established a city income tax. On October 3, 1978, the City Council adopted Ordinance #669, which set the tax rate at 1% and eliminated credit for tax paid to another city.

The City has mandatory registration for all residents who live in the City, all employers, contractors, and subcontractors who perform work within the City. Owners of rental property within the City of Milford are also required to register and report information on their tenants when they move in or out of the City, within 30 days.

The Regional Income Tax Authority (RITA) administers the City's municipal income tax. RITA enforces our local tax ordinance and provides electronic filing and payment services 24 hours a day at www.ritaohio.com or via telephone at (800) 860.7482. The City has a staff member in the tax office from 8:30 am-1:30 pm, Monday through Friday that can be reached at (513) 248.5082 or on a walk-in basis at 745 Center Street.
